New Delhi, Oct. 25 -- Delhi Police personnel averted a tragedy by moving four LPG cylinders away from a fire-hit house in south Delhi's Khanpur on Sunday, an officer said.

The fire broke out at a house in Jawahar Park around noon, reportedly following a blast in a refrigerator, police said. Three large LPG cylinders and a small cylinder were kept in the kitchen near the affected area, posing a risk of the fire spreading and triggering a major accident, an officer said. "After receiving a PCR call regarding the fire, a team from Neb Sarai police station rushed to the spot. Assessing the danger, the police personnel used wet cloths to carefully move the hot LPG cylinders away from the fire-affected area, reducing the risk of the blaze escalating," said the officer.
