India, June 15 -- Delhi Minister for Social Welfare, SC/ST/OBC Welfare and MLA from the Bawana Assembly constituency, Ravinder Indraj Singh, on Sunday launched development projects worth nearly Rs.10 crore in Pooth Khurd village under the Delhi Rural Development Board (DRDB) Fund. The projects include the strengthening of village roads, construction of cement concrete (CC) pavements, development of reinforced cement concrete (RCC) drains and other works aimed at improving drainage and civic infrastructure in the area. According to the government, the projects are expected to significantly improve connectivity in Pooth Khurd and neighbouring areas, reduce waterlogging and enhance access to essential public services. Improved internal roads are also expected to facilitate smoother daily commuting and support local commercial activities. Addressing residents at the event, Ravinder Indraj Singh said, "Providing modern and improved infrastructure to Delhi's rural areas through the Delhi Rural Development Board Fund is a key priority of the Government. The development projects launched in Pooth Khurd are not limited to the construction of roads and drains alone, but have been planned with a comprehensive vision for the village's overall development, improved quality of life and future requirements."
Emphasising the importance of basic infrastructure, he added, "Strong roads, an efficient drainage system and better connectivity form the foundation of sustainable rural development." The minister noted that development initiatives in the Bawana Assembly constituency are being implemented at a rapid pace. "Only a day earlier, development projects worth approximately Rs.20 crore had been launched in Deep Vihar and today projects worth Rs.10 crore have been initiated in Pooth Khurd. This reflects the Government's serious commitment and focused approach towards the development of the Bawana Assembly constituency," he said. He further said the Delhi Government would continue undertaking projects to improve sanitation, transportation facilities and civic infrastructure to ensure that rural Delhi becomes an integral part of the capital's growth story.
