India, July 23 -- The Delhi government has reduced the processing time for 84 services available through its Single Window System, with some services now being delivered instantly, as part of its deregulation and digital governance initiative, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Tuesday. The move follows a comprehensive review conducted by the Information Technology Department under Deregulation Exercise - Phase II, which assessed the delivery timeline of 95 key services across 18 government departments. According to the government, the Single Window System is an online platform that enables citizens and businesses to apply for licences, permits, approvals and clearances through a single portal. Highlighting the objective behind the exercise, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, "The Delhi Government is committed to making government services faster, simpler and more transparent for citizens and businesses." The review identified opportunities to streamline procedures, reducing processing time for 84 services, with some now delivered instantly. Gupta said the reforms would improve ease of doing business, strengthen digital governance, enhance transparency, simplify procedures and make public services faster.
