India, Aug. 11 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with ministers and BJP MLAs, participated in a Tiranga Yatra in the Assembly premises on Tuesday. Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta, ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ashish Sood, Pankaj Singh and Ravinder Indraj Singh, BJP chief whip Abhay Verma, and a large number of MLAs participated in the event. The participants, carrying the national flag, marched from the statue of Mahatma Gandhi to the statue of B R Ambedkar in the Assembly premises. Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister appealed to the residents of Delhi to hoist the Tricolour at their homes and turn the grand festival of Independence into a mass movement under the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign. Speaker Vijender Gupta said the Tricolour is the living heartbeat of the country's democracy and the sacred thread connecting every Indian to the ideals of the Constitution. Sirsa said the Tiranga Yatra was taken out to display people's love and affection for the national flag that represented the pride and glory of the country.
