New Delhi, Nov. 1 -- The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will organise a guided heritage walk at Sanjay Van on November 14, covering five historic structures associated with Delhi's early medieval history. The second walk in the series, organised in association with INTACH Delhi Chapter, will take participants to the Historic Well, Large Fortification, Small Fortification, the Bastion near the Small Fortification and the Lal Kot Wall. The registration fee is Rs. 500 plus GST per person, with online registration available through the DDA portal.
The structures form part of Lal Kot and Qila Rai Pithora, Delhi's earliest fortified capital. DDA has recently undertaken conservation and restoration work at these sites, including repairing the well, stabilising fortification walls and clearing debris. The initiative follows a six month MoU signed between DDA and INTACH to organise 12 guided walks across six heritage and green spaces. The first walk was held at Mehrauli Archaeological Park on October 24. The initiative is being undertaken under the directions of Lieutenant Governor Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
