New Delhi, Sept. 10 -- The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) held its second and third stakeholder consultations on various provisions of the Master Plan for Delhi 2047, in line with the directions of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu to ensure that the Plan translates into tangible benefits for the people of Delhi.
The consultations are part of a wider stakeholder engagement exercise aimed at ensuring coordinated, effective and participatory implementation of MPD 2047, with around 20 such meetings planned over a three-month period.
During the meetings, the DDA provided an overview of the major provisions of MPD 2047, followed by detailed discussions with participating stakeholders on various aspects of implementation and coordination. The discussions also provided an opportunity to address queries and bring greater clarity to the provisions of the Master Plan. Stakeholders shared their views, suggestions and feedback relating to the implementation of MPD 2047 and inter-departmental coordination. The first consultation in the series was held with public representatives, including Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Delhi. The second meeting was attended by representatives of NDMC, MCD, Delhi Jal Board, DMRC, DTC, NHAI, NCRTC, Delhi Police and DUSIB. Representatives of GNCTD departments, including PWD, Power, Land & Building, Fire, Irrigation & Flood Control and Forest departments, also participated. Representatives of IGL, NBCC, CPWD and Institute of Town Planners, India also participated in the second meeting.
The third stakeholder meeting was held with conservation bodies, architects working in heritage conservation, Delhi Tourism, ASI, SPA, INTACH, Department of Archaeology, Indraprastha Virasat Punarvikas Nigam, MCD, DUAC, Delhi Fire Service and the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
