New Delhi, June 21 -- Delhi Police personnel rescued a 32-year-old man who was allegedly attempting to jump from the fifth floor of the ISBT Kashmere Gate building, averting a tragedy, an officer said on Sunday.

Police said a PCR call was received on June 19 reporting that a man was threatening to jump from the building at the interstate bus terminal.

"Head Constable Ajay and Constable Piyush of the ISBT police post rushed to the spot and found the man standing on the outer ledge outside a fifth-floor window," a senior police officer said.

Police calmed the distressed man, secured a safety rope and rescued him. Mohammad Kamran was later counselled and handed over to his father.
