Chandigarh, Sept. 10 -- Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday directed officials to expedite construction of the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) near Hisar airport, saying the project would strengthen economic activity and accelerate development in Hisar and adjoining areas.

Chairing a meeting on development projects costing over Rs 75 crore under the State Pragati Portal, Saini reviewed 11 projects and sought their timely completion.

He also reviewed Phase-II of the Swarn Jayanti Integrated Aviation Hub in Hisar, including airport infrastructure, the new terminal and ATC building, water supply and drainage works. He directed officials to explore increasing flights from Hisar and promoting connecting services.

Officials said the 1,578-acre IMC has received environmental clearance and the entire required land is with the government. The tendering process is at its final stage. Saini directed officials to ensure construction begins without delay and that quality standards are maintained. He also called for dedicated provisions for aerospace, Army corridor and medical sectors and directed officials to expedite MRO activities at the airport.

The CM reviewed several energy projects, including an 800 MW ultra-supercritical unit at Yamunanagar's Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant. The Rs 7,272-crore project is progressing as scheduled and is expected to be completed by December 2029.
