New Delhi, Oct. 5 -- Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday inspected the Sakhi One Stop Centre at Lok Nayak Hospital and directed officials to ensure time-bound follow-up of complaints involving women and girls affected by violence.

Gupta ordered all Sakhi centres in Delhi to submit detailed monthly reports to the Chief Minister's Office, covering police intimation, FIR status, action against accused and assistance provided

to victims.

"A woman seeking help must receive not just assistance, but dignity, safety and effective legal support," Gupta said.

She also directed separate and confidential record-keeping of POCSO cases involving girls, with regular monitoring of police action, FIRs, arrests and subsequent legal proceedings.

The Chief Minister reviewed counselling, medical assistance, legal aid, police support and temporary shelter facilities available at the centre. She said women reaching the centre in distress should be provided a safe environment and their concerns addressed sensitively.

Gupta further directed officials to record delays in police action and escalate such cases to senior officers for prompt resolution.

She stressed that the effectiveness of the system should be assessed not merely by the number of cases registered, but by the assistance provided and action taken

thereafter.
