Kolkata, Sept. 15 -- CJP activist Sheikh Abdul Hafeez, son of Sheikh Mohammed Mafik, who allegedly died after being assaulted in Bankura's Indas, met TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee on Monday.
Hafeez had earlier spoken to Banerjee over the phone following his father's death but declined comment after the meeting. TMC MP Dola Sen said Hafeez had sought Banerjee's support and that the party chief assured him of all possible help.
Sen described the meeting as a courtesy interaction, not a political one, and said Banerjee had stood by the family during its difficult time. She also recalled Banerjee's earlier efforts to reach out to the bereaved family.
