SRINAGAR, June 21 -- The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is preparing to expand its security presence across additional correctional facilities in Jammu & Kashmir following the successful implementation of its security model at Central Jail Srinagar and Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
CISF was inducted at the two high-security prisons in October 2023 and has since established a technology-driven security framework to prevent prison breaches, curb contraband smuggling and strengthen overall prison management.
While no announcements are finalised, groundwork suggests movement toward inclusion of more sites. Observers note that results from current posts played a role in shaping next steps.
Expansion appears likely, given feedback from existing operations.
What began as limited involvement may shift into wider responsibility.
