New Delhi, Aug. 27 -- CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan on Thursday reviewed security preparedness and operational readiness at the Delhi Metro, and inaugurated a newly constructed male barrack at Yamuna Bank for CISF personnel.
Ranjan visited the CISF unit at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the force's largest unit, with more than 12,000 personnel securing 10 lines and 303 stations and
providing security to over 70 lakh commuters daily.
During his visit, Ranjan interacted with personnel and addressed a Sainik Sammelan at Prakriti Park. He said securing the Metro was challenging and required constant alertness, quick response, surveillance, effective training and close coordination with the DMRC, while ensuring commuter convenience.
He also laid the foundation stone for the Pushta Shakarpur barrack and reviewed the Yamuna Bank barrack's
construction. The facilities are aimed at improving working and living conditions for personnel.
Ranjan visited the Kavach Training Cell and Operational Control Centre at Shastri Park, where he was briefed on training, surveillance and operational preparedness. He also discussed security and coordination with senior DMRC officials.
