Mumbai, Oct. 1 -- The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) welcomed the government's decision to extend the RoDTEP Scheme until December 31, 2026, saying the move would provide timely support to Indian exporters amid an evolving global trade environment.

Sanjay Budhia, Chairman, CII National Committee on Exports, said, "The Indian industry welcomes the Government's decision to extend the RoDTEP Scheme until 31st December 2026. This timely extension provides crucial support to exporters and will help sustain India's export competitiveness amid a challenging and evolving global trade environment. Representing the voice of the industry, CII had recommended continuing the scheme beyond its 30th September 2026 expiration with a longer-term extension of five years. CII looks forward to a longer-term policy horizon for export support. This would guarantee greater certainty, enabling more effective export pricing and the securing of longterm contracts We sincerely appreciate the Government's responsiveness to industry concerns and look forward to continued engagement to strengthen this vital support for India's exporters and foster greater policy stability."

CII said it looked forward to continued engagement with the government to build a stable and supportive policy ecosystem for exporters.
