Ayodhya, July 9 -- Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri has said former general secretary Champat Rai is in good health, has no resentment over recent developments and continues to fully support the trust's efforts to strengthen transparency and improve its administrative systems.
Speaking before leaving Ayodhya after meeting Champat Rai, Govind Dev Giri said they discussed his health, the functioning of the trust, arrangements at the Ram Temple and recent developments. He said Champat Rai stands firmly behind the decisions and reforms being implemented by the trust. Describing Champat Rai as a disciplined organisation worker who has devoted his life to the service of the nation, the treasurer said every step being taken to make the trust's functioning stronger and more transparent has his complete cooperation and support.
The statement is being seen as significant amid speculation over Champat Rai's position following recent controversies surrounding the trust.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the Ram Temple donation theft case has revealed fresh details during the custodial interrogation of the three accused.
According to the police, Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra and Karunesh Pandey allegedly diverted the stolen money through the bank accounts of relatives and close acquaintances to conceal its origin. Investigators said the accused would hand over cash to these individuals, who would then transfer the equivalent amount back to the accused through multiple bank transactions, making it difficult to trace the source of the funds.
