New Delhi, Oct. 6 -- The Union Cabinet on Tuesday passed a resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 years of continuous leadership as head of the government.

It celebrated the extraordinary journey of PM Modi guided by the principles of Nation First and Citizen First.

Three overwhelming mandates in Gujarat and support in three successive Lok Sabha polls indicated the support and trust of the public.

The Cabinet dwelt upon ten salient features that capture the unbroken thread connecting his leadership of Gujarat with his leadership of the country.

These include carrying forward his initiatives in Gujarat to the national state, compassion for the poor that translated into delivering homes, potable water, banking and healthcare. Nearly 60 crore Jan Dhan accounts, over four crore homes and moving 25 crore out of poverty showed public action in bringing dignity to the families, the resolution noted.

Other areas where PM Modi turned his focus was empowerment of women and farmers through various government schemes and programmes that made around 3.5 crore women LakhpatiDidis, while the Nari Shakti VandanAdhiniyam provided for women's reservation.

The Cabinet's resolution emphasised PM Modi's unwavering commitment to reform despite political risks and it included GST, welfare delivery reforms and the replacement of colonial laws.

Under his leadership, India has increased electronics production from Rs. 2 lakh crore to more than 13 lakh crore and taken up defence production and semiconductor manufacturing. The resolution noted PM Modi's faith in technology that brought improved mobile connectivity, UPI payments and helped in realising the vision of scientifically capable, self-reliant India.

The resolution highlighted his ability to give India direction through global upheaval, particularly during COVID and the West Asia crisis.

It cited 2016 Surgical strikes, 2019 Balakot Air Strikes and 2025 Operation Sindoor as illustrative of the national security red lines established under his leadership.
