New Delhi, Sept. 30 -- The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved three measures covering farm prices, renewable power infrastructure and traffic management in Delhi, including higher Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for all six mandated Rabi crops for the 2027-28 marketing season.

The MSP for safflower was raised by Rs 675 to Rs 7,215 per quintal, the largest increase among the crops. Rapeseed and mustard MSP rose by Rs 413 to Rs 6,613, while lentil increased by Rs 390 to Rs 7,390. MSPs for gram, barley and wheat were raised by Rs 83, Rs 136 and Rs 25 to Rs 5,958, Rs 2,286 and Rs 2,610 respectively. The government said the rates meet its policy of keeping MSP at least 1.5 times the weighted average cost of production.

The Cabinet also cleared the Rs 1,86,405 crore Green Energy Corridor Phase-III scheme to strengthen intra-state transmission and facilitate evacuation of up to 135 GW of renewable power. It includes 50 GWh of battery storage, with the Centre providing Rs 54,082 crore in financial support.

For Delhi, a Rs 1,789.52 crore Intelligent Traffic Management System was approved for 42 corridors. The project will use adaptive signals, automated enforcement and real-time traffic data. It will cover 1,092 adaptive signal locations and 1,029 enforcement points, with systems to detect violations and provide priority movement for emergency vehicles.
