India, Aug. 30 -- Brothers and sisters planted more than one lakh saplings across the state on Raksha Bandhan. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath planted a sapling in this Vishisht Van (Raksha Bandhan Vatika) in Gorakhpur. Under Vishisht Van, saplings were planted in Raksha Bandhan Vatikas in all forest divisions on August 28 (Friday). Under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, Vishisht Van (Maharshi Charak Aushadhi Van, Samaras Van, Samriddhi Van, Kapi Van, Urja Van, Expressway-Paudharopan, Aviral Dhara Paudharopan, Vande Mataram Vatika) etc. were established under Paudharopan Mahayagya-2026. In the same series, on Raksha Bandhan, the symbol of the affection of 'brothers and sisters', on August 28 (Friday), 'Bhai-Behen Paudharopan' was undertaken in every forest division, under which 1,09,171 saplings were planted at 59 sites and 59 new Raksha Bandhan Vatikas were established. On Raksha Bandhan, saplings were planted in every division to express respect for the contributions of the environment and nature and to protect the environment and nature. Along with plantation, brothers and sisters jointly tied Raksasutra around trees and plants, conveying the message of protection. In the Gorakhpur Forest Division, under Bhai-Behen Paudharopan on Raksha Bandhan, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath planted a banyan sapling at Gorakhnath University, Gorakhpur. Along with this, students tied Raksasutra to Maulshree and 101 other religious and cultural species and pledged to protect nature.
