New Delhi, July 6 -- India on Monday began the two-day BRICS Women's Working Group (WWG) Meeting in Kochi under its BRICS Chairship 2026, with senior officials from member countries deliberating on women's empowerment and women-led development.

Welcoming the delegates, Women and Child Development Secretary Anil Malik said the shared commitment of BRICS nations had kept them closely connected despite geographical distances. He expressed confidence that the meeting would promote meaningful dialogue and stronger cooperation.

Discussions are centred on four priority areas -- women's leadership and governance, financial and digital inclusion, entrepreneurship and skill development, and women's role in climate action, food security and nutrition.
