New Delhi, Sept. 8 -- The Delhi Assembly and the Civic Centre received bomb threats via email on Tuesday, triggering security checks at both premises, with no suspicious object found during searches, police said.
The Delhi Assembly received the email around 8:30 am, following which security agencies were alerted and necessary checks were initiated, they said. Sources said Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta received the email. Separately, Civic Centre security authorities also received an email around 10 am, and it was subsequently shared with the Delhi Police, officials said. On receiving the information, personnel from Kamla Market police station, local police and security agencies at the Civic Centre searched the premises.
The Bomb Disposal Squad was also informed through the police control room to conduct an anti-sabotage check (ASC), officials said, adding that during the search, no suspicious object or substance was found.
