India, Aug. 20 -- A blind law student at Delhi University's Campus Law Centre is seeking to contest the upcoming Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections, bringing the representation of students with disabilities into focus. Pankaj Dhingra, a prospective candidate campaigning with the Aam Aadmi Party's student wing, Association of Students for Alternative Politics (ASAP), is seeking to contest the elections scheduled for September 18. His campaign focuses on greater participation and representation of students with disabilities, who, according to ASAP, continue to face barriers to accessing opportunities and participating fully in campus life. ASAP said Dhingra's candidature seeks to broaden student politics and give greater space to underrepresented voices. It said students with disabilities should not only benefit from policies but also participate in student politics.
