New Delhi, Sept. 13 -- A fire broke out at a factory manufacturing judo dresses and boxing gloves in Delhi's Swaroop Nagar area on Sunday, leaving six people in an adjacent building injured, police said.
A PCR call was received regarding the blaze. The fire broke out on the ground and first floors, used as a rexine katran and cotton webbing godown.
No one inside the factory was injured. However, panic and smoke from the blaze led to six people in the neighbouring building being injured. One person reportedly jumped from the building and injured their right leg.
Five injured people were taken to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital, while another was admitted to Government Hospital, Burari. All six are out of danger, police said.
The building comprises a basement, ground floor, first floor and tin shed, spread over around 200 square yards.
Multiple fire tenders were deployed and the blaze was extinguished by 1:50 pm. Officials are assessing the cause and extent of damage.
