New Delhi, Sept. 9 -- To mark the 25 years as a constitutional head and the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Wednesday launched a one-month 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan'.
This one-month programme will be a blend of welfare mobilisation, youth empowerment, grassroots-level mobilisation and public participation throughout the country.
The campaign would be held from September 17 till October 17. According to the party, it would use this opportunity not only to celebrate Modi's journey as a leader but also to spread their governance agenda and the vision of 'Viksit Bharat 2047' among crores of people.
Nitin Nabin announced this campaign from the BJP office here in New Delhi. He informed that the BJP holds the one-month programme every year on the occasion of the Prime Minister's birthday, which is held on September 17; however, this time it needs to be organised on account of 25 years as a constitutional head.
"Considering that being in office for five years in the government itself is considered an achievement nowadays, it becomes all the more exceptional to have the blessings of the people come for 25 long years in such a huge democracy," said the president of the BJP party.
Political communication of the saffron party will revolve around the transformation that the party credits to the leadership of Modi, where Nabin described the career path of the Prime Minister from being a typical party worker to becoming 'Pradhan Sevak' for India.
The party president also underlined the delivery of welfare services, reduction in poverty, sanitation, housing, food security and social security as significant indicators of achievements of the Modi government.
He mentioned the achievements of the government that include 25 crore people being brought out of poverty, rations to around 80 crore people, social security to more than 100 crore people, construction of 12 crore toilets and 4 crore houses and distribution of 200 crore free vaccines against corona.
Nabin also wanted to drive a wedge between the India of 2014 and India of 2026, saying "India had gone from being one of the 'Fragile Five' countries to being amongst the fastest growing major economies."
