Lucknow, Sept. 28 -- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati on Monday alleged that the BJP, as part of a conspiracy to harm the BSP, rigged EVMs to ensure election of Chandra Shekhar Aazad from the Nagina Lok Sabha seat.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Mayawati alleged the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) founder and MP is working at the behest of the BJP.
Wherever there are protests by Dalits, he (Aazad) appears there and provokes them -- eventually leading to police cases against the protestors, who lose out on government jobs because of this, she claimed. Referring to the BSP's traditional voters, she said they vote for the party considering it their only well-wisher, but their votes end up in someone else's account, causing them to lose faith in elections.
She said once a case is registered against these youths, they become ineligible for government jobs until the case is disposed of, and gradually fall behind while having to make rounds of courts.
