Kolkata, Oct. 14 -- The spelling of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's name on a plaque at the newly renovated Netaji Seva Kendra in Kulti has triggered criticism after it was written as 'Subhas Changdra' instead of 'Subhas Chandra'.
The centre was set up by minister Ajay Poddar on Kulti Station Road.
Reacting to the error, the Mamata Trinamool questioned the BJP's claims of respecting Bengal's culture, heritage
and icons.
The party asked why a basic spelling check had not been conducted before the inauguration, asserting that correctly spelling Netaji's name was the bare minimum.
Responding, Poddar said the artist responsible for the lettering might have made a mistake and that he would ask for it to be checked.
The MAITC reiterated that Netaji's name was a matter of Bengal's pride and deserved due respect.
