New Delhi,, Sept. 15 -- The Delhi Police on Tuesday registered an FIR on a complaint by Kanjhawala Mandal BJP president Sunil Kumar against Mundka MLA Gajendra Drall and other party workers, alleging assault and casteist abuse at a BJP office.

Police said the accused have been booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Arms Act and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Kumar alleged he was called to the office on the pretext of discussing voter lists, assaulted with pipes, sticks and belts, and confined overnight. He also claimed CCTV cameras were switched off. The BJP has sought explanations from Drall and Kumar, asking them to appear before its disciplinary committee on September 16. AAP has demanded Drall's sacking.
