Kolkata, Sept. 10 -- BJP's Diamond Harbour organisational district president Soma Ghosh has been served a show-cause notice by the party's disciplinary committee for taking decisions without the consent of the party leadership.
The party's disciplinary committee handed her a show-cause letter on Wednesday. Ghosh must respond in writing within the next seven days regarding why she should not be suspended from the party. Ghosh had earlier suspended four party leaders without the consent of the party leadership. She has been asked to provide reasons behind her decision. If she fails to provide any satisfactory answer, action will be taken against Ghosh, sources said.
Within a few hours after the four leaders were suspended, the letter, signed by BJP's disciplinary committee chief Pratap Banerjee, was served to Ghosh. "You have taken organisational decisions ignoring the state leadership, which is very shameful and against the party constitution. As a result, the party's image has been tarnished," reads the letter.
The BJP leaders Ghosh suspended without the state leadership's consent are Bijoy das, a booth president, Sanjit Sasmal, Ashok Karmakar and Amit Sardar.
