Patna, Sept. 2 -- Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday launched the 'Jaanch Evam Upchar - Chikitsa Aapke Dwar' Campaign at Urja Auditorium, Rajvanshi Nagar, Patna. On the occasion, he flagged off awareness raths for all 38 districts of the state. The campaign will run from September 2 to November 30, 2026.
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister congratulated the Health Department for organising the event. He said the campaign has been launched under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health minister JP Nadda. In Bihar, Health minister Nishant Kumar is overseeing this work. The objective of the campaign is to ensure timely detection and treatment rather than waiting for an illness to become serious. "Get screened so that you do not fall ill in the first place. Only when a disease is identified in time can correct and effective treatment be possible," he said. Under the campaign, citizens above 30 years of age will be screened. Health workers will conduct primary examinations and counselling door-to-door, and as required, patients will be provided treatment facilities ranging from Ayushman Arogya Mandir to the district hospital.
The campaign will screen for diabetes, blood pressure, common cancers, heart disease, respiratory and lung diseases, and fatty liver.
The Chief Minister said health services in the state are being steadily strengthened. Patient referrals from hospitals have declined and the number of surgeries at district hospitals has increased.
