New Delhi, Sept. 23 -- Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar on Wednesday inspected Balak Ram Hospital in North Delhi and directed officials to improve access to the facility and ensure adequate deployment of staff.
During the inspection, Khirwar reviewed the facilities available at the hospital and directed officials to construct a proper pathway from the main approach road to the hospital entrance to facilitate the movement of patients and visitors.
He also ordered the relocation of a tree within the hospital premises, citing the need to prevent obstruction to patients and ensure smooth delivery of medical services. The Commissioner directed officials to deploy adequate manpower at the hospital and asked staff to work with greater focus on the convenience of citizens.
Timarpur MLA Surya Prakash Khatri, Additional Commissioner Pankaj Naresh Agarwal, North Zone Deputy Commissioner Shweta Nagarkoti, Engineer-in-Chief K.K. Sharma and other senior MCD officials were present during the inspection.
Khirwar later inspected Wazirabad and interacted with residents to take stock of civic issues in the area. He directed officials to undertake desilting and cleaning of drains by removing accumulated silt.
The Commissioner also ordered the removal of ramps that were obstructing access to the drains and hampering cleaning operations. Officials were directed to demolish such ramps to facilitate proper maintenance of the drainage network.
The inspection comes amid the civic body's ongoing efforts to address local infrastructure and sanitation-related issues, with officials directed to ensure that residents do not face inconvenience due to blocked or poorly maintained drains.
