India, May 7 -- The Delhi Legislative Assembly witnessed a packed and culturally immersive evening as it hosted 'Apne Apne Ram - Ram Katha', a special presentation by noted poet Kumar Vishwas, bringing together devotion, literature and philosophical discourse under one roof. Presided over by Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta, the event transformed the Assembly premises into a space of spiritual reflection, with saffron illumination adding to the atmosphere. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with senior officials and legislators, attended the programme. Addressing the gathering, the Speaker highlighted the enduring relevance of Lord Ram's ideals, stating, "Ram is not merely a figure of reverence, but a living principle of conduct. His life continues to guide us in understanding duty, balance, and justice in both personal and public life." He further added, "Programmes such as these do not merely revisit tradition, they renew our collective understanding of it." Moving beyond conventional retelling, the presentation explored themes of duty, sacrifice, compassion and justice, connecting ancient values with modern governance and ethical dilemmas. Organised in collaboration with the Department of Education, the programme aimed to promote cultural awareness, especially among the youth. The audience remained deeply engaged throughout, with the event concluding on a reflective note and receiving a standing ovation. Officials described the evening as a significant cultural moment, reinforcing the Assembly's role as a platform for intellectual and civilisational dialogue.
