India, Aug. 6 -- Ahead of the Monsoon Session of the Delhi Assembly beginning on August 7, Speaker Vijender Gupta on Thursday chaired a high-level security review meeting and said all arrangements have been put in place to ensure the smooth and secure functioning of the House. The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Delhi Police, CRPF, Delhi Fire Services, Bomb Disposal Squad, Special Staff, SWAT, ambulance services and the Delhi Assembly Secretariat. Earlier in the day, Delhi Police conducted a mock drill at the Assembly complex to assess emergency response capabilities and operational preparedness. During the meeting, Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Devesh Shrivastava informed the Speaker that all necessary security measures had been completed for the session. Also Read - IMD issues red alert as heavy rain causes traffic snarls, waterlogging in Delhi According to the Assembly Secretariat, around 130 Delhi Police and CRPF personnel will be deployed throughout the Monsoon Session to provide multi-layered security. Security arrangements have also been enhanced with the installation of hydraulic road blockers at all entry gates, stricter access control and deployment of a CRPF Quick Response Team. Under the revised protocol, entry to the Assembly premises will be allowed only through Gate No. 1, while other gates will remain restricted. The meeting also decided to install view cutters around the Assembly complex to prevent unauthorised visual access. In addition, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP)-rank officer will be permanently stationed at the Assembly, and a dedicated Delhi Police office will be set up inside the complex to improve coordination and enable quicker responses to security-related incidents. The review covered surveillance systems, threat assessment, deployment plans, visitor management, frisking procedures, traffic regulation and emergency preparedness, including medical, fire and evacuation arrangements. "The House is fully prepared for the Monsoon Session," Speaker Vijender Gupta said, directing all agencies to maintain close coordination and ensure the proceedings are conducted safely and without disruption.
