India, Aug. 12 -- A 19-year-old woman from Assam was found dead in a blood-soaked condition inside a locked room at a paying guest accommodation in Baraula village on Sunday, with police suspecting that she was killed with a sharp-edged weapon. The deceased was identified as Mahak Ahmed, a Class 12 passout from Dibrugarh. She had arrived in Noida around three weeks ago without informing her parents and was staying at the PG near Bansal temple with her 18-year-old friend, Sanjana, also from Assam. The body was discovered after residents complained of a foul smell coming from a locked room on the first floor. The room belonged to Raman, a BTech graduate and former IT employee from Katihar, Bihar, who has been missing since the incident. Police said Mahak had multiple injury marks, some apparently caused by a sharp-edged weapon. A forensic team examined the room and the body was sent for post-mortem.
