India, Aug. 29 -- Traffic movement, pedestrian safety and air pollution control measures at Anand Vihar Railway Station and the adjoining NCRTC area came under review on Friday as officials from multiple departments conducted a joint on-site inspection. The inspection, carried out in coordination with the East Delhi district administration, covered the entry and exit points of the railway station and surrounding roads. Officials assessed traffic congestion, pedestrian movement, escalator availability, e-rickshaw operations, access to the park and road dust in the area. The exercise was conducted under the guidance of East Delhi District Magistrate Karanjit and DCP Traffic (East) Shweta Singh, with officials from concerned departments participating in the inspection. Traffic management emerged as a key focus, with officials examining measures to ensure smoother movement of passengers and vehicles around the railway station. The availability and functioning of escalators were also reviewed, along with arrangements for pedestrian movement and access to the nearby park. Officials discussed systematic e-rickshaw movement, traffic regulation, road cleaning, dust suppression and pedestrian management.
