New Delhi, Oct. 14 -- The All India Students' Association (AISA) on Wednesday condemned the arrest of activists Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka following protests at Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
AISA alleged that the arrests were part of a crackdown on student groups, civil society organisations and opposition parties.
It said Ajinkya Shinde, also arrested, had been released on a personal bond, while Das and Ranka remained in custody. The organisation accused Delhi Police of intimidating protesters. mpost
