New Delhi, Oct. 21 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday alleged irregularities in the Delhi Jal Board's (DJB) tendering process, claiming equipment to remove foam from the Yamuna had been installed at Kalindi Kunj before the financial bid was opened. AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj identified the contractor as Icon Instruments and said its equipment, chemical containers, pumps and labour had been at the site for two to three days.

Bharadwaj claimed a DJB engineer, Durgan, had instructed the company to begin work, questioning how the contractor could have been identified before the tender process was completed.

Drawing parallels with alleged irregularities in health and road construction projects, he challenged Delhi minister Parvesh Verma, who oversees both the DJB and PWD, to clarify whether action would be taken over the allegations.
