India, Aug. 25 -- A boat and an oar were brought into the Municipal Corporation of Delhi House on Monday as AAP councillors staged a symbolic protest over waterlogging, blocked roads and alleged civic failures during the monsoon. The Opposition said the props highlighted conditions in several parts of Delhi where waterlogging has disrupted traffic and daily life. "We have to show the BJP Mayor what they have done to the capital," councillors said, alleging repeated congestion and poor road conditions. The demonstration took place during a House meeting where councillors discussed stray animals and measures to prevent mosquito-borne diseases, including dengue, malaria and chikungunya. Mayor Pravesh Wahi said a special House meeting would be held soon to discuss stray animals and mosquito-borne diseases. He also accused some AAP councillors of disrupting proceedings and warned of action for "unparliamentary conduct". Neema Bhagat, Jyoti Aggarwal, Shivani Panchal and Chitra Vidyarthi were elected to the DDA Advisory Council.
