New Delhi, July 5 -- It was raining heavily in Mumbai on Sunday, disrupting normal life, but that didn't stop Bollywood's 'Perfectionist' Aamir Khan from beginning a new chapter of his life with Gauri Spratt. At his Mumbai home on Sunday, the 'Lagaan' actor tied the knot with Gauri, surrounded by family members and close friends.
Aamir, 61 and Gauri, 47, had a registered marriage under the Special Marriage Act at 12:45 pm on Sunday. The '3 Idiots' actor was surrounded by his close family members, including his son Azad (from his second marriage with filmmaker Kiran Rao). Gauri, too, was accompanied by her son. Both the newlyweds stuck to traditional and elegant looks on the wedding day.
Just a few days ago, at the special screening of Rajkumar Hirani's web series, 'Pritam and Pedro' in Mumbai, the 'PK' actor said that the wedding would be an 'intimate and small affair' only to be attended by close family members and friends. "The wedding is on July 5. We are hosting it at home. It's a very small, intimate affair. It is a very special day for us. Both families and a few close friends will be there. We just need everyone's blessings for our happiness and pray that we have a wonderful journey ahead," he said.
Meanwhile, politician Raj Thackeray, acclaimed lyricist-writer Prasoon Joshi, businessman Mukesh Ambani, director Ashutosh Gowariker ('Lagaan'), actors Rhea Chakraborty, Vir Das and ex-cricketer Irfan Pathan were seen attending the wedding at Aamir's Bandra residence in Mumbai.
The 'Dangal' actor had introduced Spratt to the media in March 2025 and publicly confirmed his relationship during celebrations for his 60th birthday. Since then, the couple has been spotted several times together. The actor had shared that they have known each other for 25 years but started dating recently. Hailing from Bengaluru, Spratt has a son from her previous relationship.
Meanwhile, this is the third marriage of Aamir. He has been married to Reena Dutta and has two kids, Junaid and Ira, with her. Later in 2005, Khan married filmmaker Kiran Rao. In 2021, they announced their separation. However, the couple continue to co-parent their son, Azad.
