India, Aug. 25 -- Six people, including the alleged mastermind, a website developer and three tele-callers, have been arrested for allegedly running a fake airline job racket, police said on Monday. The accused allegedly lured job seekers through social media advertisements, promising airport jobs after they paid Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000 for a purported aviation diploma. The racket surfaced after a man was contacted by a woman posing as an HR executive for fake "Bretish Airways". He paid Rs 7,000 and received fake admission and job documents. Police traced the suspects to Noida and arrested alleged mastermind Sandeep Kumar, 23, and associate Akhil Kumar, 27, on August 18. They allegedly ran fake companies from a rented office, using websites, purchased job-seeker data and women tele-callers posing as HR executives. Police arrested website developer Rakesh Kumar, 47, and tele-callers Shweta, Sapna and Sakshi, 20. Police seized laptops, phones, SIM cards and job-seeker data. NCRP scrutiny revealed 10 linked complaints. Further investigation is underway. In a separate case, Delhi Police busted a sham call centre in Laxmi Nagar and arrested three people, including two women, for allegedly duping job seekers with fake airline job offers. The accused allegedly posed as HR representatives and demanded money through UPI for registration and employment-related charges. Police identified the accused as Mohammad Zaid, Sadaf and Tanisha. The case came to light after a Chhattisgarh resident reported losing Rs 14,500 to a fake job offer. Police traced the money trail to Zaid before arresting the trio. Two other NCRP complaints have also been linked to mobile numbers allegedly used by the accused.
