India, Aug. 20 -- Four councillors of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) filed their nominations on Wednesday for membership of the Delhi Development Authority's (DDA) Advisory Council, with the election scheduled to be held at the civic body's meeting on August 24. The nominations were filed at the Municipal Secretary's office in the Civic Centre on the last day of the nomination process. The BJP has nominated Neema Bhagat, councillor from Ward 210 (Geeta Colony), and Jyoti Agarwal, representing Ward 60 (Rani Bagh). The Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Shivani Panchal from Ward 223 (Rohtash Nagar) and Chitra Vidyarthi from Ward 66 (Wazirpur). Mayor Pravesh Wahi, Deputy Mayor Monika Pant and Leader of House Jai Bhagwan Yadav were present during the filing of nominations. The four councillors will now contest the election to represent the MCD on the DDA's Advisory Council. The outcome could assume significance as Delhi's urban planning framework undergoes a major review. Wahi congratulated the councillors and expressed hope that the elected representatives would contribute constructively to the DDA's deliberations.
