New Delhi, Aug. 30 -- A three-year-old boy, whose father is an advocate, was allegedly physically assaulted and tied to a chair for hours by a 35-year-old attendant at a playschool in Maujpur, northeast Delhi.
The incident came to light after the child's parents noticed drastic changes in his behaviour and injuries on his body. The boy had allegedly become afraid of going to the washroom, remained agitated and cried for hours at night. His parents also noticed bruises on his face and arms.
Following a complaint by the child's father, police registered an FIR at Jafrabad police station on Friday against four school officials - the director, principal, teacher and attendant.
The latter has been arrested, while the 30-year-old teacher has been asked to go under investigation. Police look into the involvement of the director and the principal in the abuse.
Police said the parents took their son to an ENT specialist when they noticed his condition. Police said CCTV footage allegedly showed the toddler being pulled by his ears, tied to a chair, kicked and repeatedly hit. Medical examination found abrasions on his face and arms.
