New Delhi, Oct. 3 -- Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has expressed deep concern over the rising unemployment in Haryana. He said that the unemployment rate in the state has crossed 15.4 per cent, while the rural unemployment rate has reached 17.5 per cent. These figures are much higher than those of several backward and major states in the country. 'More worrying is the fact that the government is not taking any steps to control unemployment. Far from providing jobs, the government has not even been able to conduct the Common Eligibility Test (CET). Young people are becoming over-age while waiting for the CET and recruitments,' Hooda further said.
