New Delhi, Oct. 13 -- A Fairytale for Grown-Ups' was one of the most hyped theatrical events in 2026. However, the Geetu Mohandas-directed film has turned into one of the year's biggest financial failures. But then, every film also comes with its own fate and singer Hanita Bhambri definitely made the most out of 'Toxic'. For her, 'Toxic' has been her debut vehicle in the mainstream music scenario, where she has sung and written the lyrics for the title track. The song features Hanita alongside Vishal Mishra (also the music composer).

"The entire process was quite organic. I was brought on to write the lyrics and while we were developing the song, the idea of me singing came up. The song has a very specific attitude and energy and I think the team felt that my voice naturally belonged in that world. What started as a writing assignment ended up becoming something beyond my wildest dreams," said Hanita, who has collaborated with names including Zaeden, Raghav Meattle, Sejal and Avanti Nagral in the past as an indie musician.

It was Hanita's debut album 'Shoharat' that established her as an artist with a distinctive, emotionally driven sound and strong songwriting identity. The singer-songwriter also said that working with Mishra was a learning experience on 'Toxic'. "He has a very instinctive understanding of melody and emotion. As a songwriter, I really value collaborations where you feel like you can bring your own voice to the table," she said.

After her debut stint with a mainstream film, Hanita is now looking to explore more work in the movie space, both as a songwriter and singer. "I've really enjoyed being part of this world. So, let's just say there are a few things brewing," she said.
