India, Aug. 21 -- A group of men posing as Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers allegedly attempted to carry out a fake raid at a businessman's residence in Rohini, prompting comparisons with the Bollywood film 'Special 26'. According to a police complaint, around eight to 10 men arrived at the house in the morning, claiming they had come to conduct a search. The businessman's wife refused to let them in and asked them to produce a search warrant. The men allegedly threatened and tried to intimidate her, but remained outside for around 90 minutes as residents gathered at the spot. They claimed they had left the documents in their car and returned to seek permission to enter, but later left without them, police said. The family subsequently contacted police through the emergency number 112. Police recorded their statements and are examining CCTV footage to establish the number of intruders and identify the vehicle used. The complaint stated that the men carried CBI insignia and identity cards. Later, the businessman's father received a WhatsApp message containing a notice purportedly bearing the CBI director's name and signature. Though the message was deleted, the family provided police with a screenshot. Police are investigating the message and CCTV footage to identify the suspects and establish their motive. The incident has drawn parallels with 'Special 26', in which fake CBI officers posed as officials.
