Woman killed, son injured in crash at Selangau-Mukah junction in Sarawak
SELANGAU, Sept. 20 -- A 41-year-old woman was killed after the car she was travelling in was involved in an accident at the Selangau-Mukah junction flyover yesterday.
The victim, identified as Patricia Gula Lumun, was trapped inside the vehicle following the accident at about 5pm.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Zone 4 Sibu chief Andy Alie said the Selangau fire station received an emergency call at 5.01pm and arrived at the scene three minutes later.
He said the woman's 19-year-old son, who was also in the vehicle, was injured and had been freed by members of the public before the firefighters arrived.
"The male victim was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment, while the mother remained trapped inside the vehicle.
