KUCHING, Aug. 29 -- Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd (Sarawak Water) will carry out planned repair works on a 1,100mm-diameter water pipeline along Jalan Matang here from 10pm on September 4 to noon on September 5.

The utility company said the works followed technical investigations and assessments of a suspected leak in the pipeline, which is located along the road median.

"The repair is being undertaken to address the issue in a controlled manner and to reduce the risk of a more serious unplanned disruption to water supply," it said in a statement.

The pipeline is one of Sarawak Water's main pipelines supplying treated water to the Bukit Siol Reservoir, which serves consumers in Kuching, Petra Jaya and surrounding areas.
