KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 13 -- Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has relieved the director of its Occupational Safety and Health Management Office of operational duties pending an investigation into an alleged stray dog killing on campus.
The university said the move was made to safeguard the integrity of an ongoing investigation by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS).
It also said it would fully cooperate with both authorities to ensure a transparent and fair inquiry into the matter.
"UPM expresses its regret and apologises for the handling of stray dogs reported to have occurred at the end of 2024," the university said in a statement today.
