KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 31 -- A total of 3,087 fatalities involving all types of road accidents were recorded between January and June this year.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said that according to statistics on fatal accidents during that period, two cases were recorded involving accidents under the influence of alcohol, BuletinTV3 reported today.

He said offences related to driving under the influence of alcohol are covered under Sections 44, 45 and 45A of the Road Transport Act 1987 (Act 333).
