Kuala Lampur, Oct. 17 -- Sanja Saranovic, deputy representative of Unicef Malaysia says every child has the right to breathe clean air.

But it is not just the right of every child.

It is the right of every person.

In a historic resolution on July 26, 2022, the United Nation General Assembly (UNGA) declared that everyone on the planet has a right to a healthy environment, including clean air, water, and a stable climate.

The resolution is not legally binding on the 193 UN member states.

But it "sends a message that nobody can take Nature, clean air and water, or a stable climate away from us - at least, not without a fight," said Inger Andersen, Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).
