KUALA TERENGGANU, Aug. 10 -- Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said the display of a Jalur Gemilang without its crescent and star at Dataran Batu Buruk was an isolated incident and was not deliberate.

Berita Harian reported that he said the state government would investigate the matter after a video of the flag circulated on social media on Friday.

"I think this was not deliberate; it was an isolated and unintentional case," he was quoted as saying.

Ahmad Samsuri said steps would also be taken to prevent a recurrence, regardless of whether the flag had been put up by the authorities or members of the public.
