KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 15 -- Around 400 people went through a harrowing experience after being trapped by a sudden flood surge at the Ali River Campsite in Kuala Kubu Baharu early this morning.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said they received a call about the incident at about 5.4am, according to a report in Kosmo! Online.

He said six personnel and a fire engine from the Kuala Kubu Baharu Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene.

"The operations commander reported that about 400 victims were trapped by the sudden surge.
