KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 31 -- The tax literacy programme implemented by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRB) throughout the 2026 HASiL Month has involved nearly 300,000 taxpayers nationwide.

Its chief executive officer, Datuk Dr Abu Tariq Jamaluddin, said various programmes were implemented throughout October to raise public awareness of taxation and the agency's role.

"During this period, we have conducted several activities, including the HASiL Literacy Tour, under which we have carried out 251 tours across the country to engage with communities and explain issues related to taxation," he told reporters during the closing ceremony of the 2026 HASiL Month here today.
